About PureDrops

Twenty years of finding water before we drill for it.

PureDrops Drillers is a specialist groundwater engineering company. We survey, drill, equip and maintain boreholes for governments, communities, farms and industry across fifteen African countries — and we document every metre.

The company

Engineers first. Drilling second.

A borehole is a water engineering project with a hole in it. We treat it that way — the survey, the test, the pump, the paperwork and the maintenance plan carry as much weight as the rig.

Who we are

PureDrops Drillers is a specialist water engineering company with over two decades of continuous groundwater work across Sub-Saharan Africa. From our base in South Africa we have drilled boreholes for national and local government, non-governmental programmes, agricultural operations, industrial sites and private landowners.

We are a drilling contractor first and a water engineering company second — which means we measure our work in litres delivered that still flow in ten years, not in metres of hole. Every project is surveyed before it is drilled, tested after it is drilled, equipped to a confirmed duty point, and handed over with the paperwork to prove it.

Our mission

To provide safe, sustainable and affordable access to groundwater for communities, businesses and farms across Africa — one properly engineered borehole at a time. Sustainable means the borehole is not over-pumped, the installation is maintained, and the owner understands exactly what the asset is and how it behaves.

Why science comes first

Every project begins with a hydrogeological survey. We map the subsurface with resistivity profiling and aquifer analysis so that the decision to drill is an engineering decision backed by evidence, not an optimistic guess. When the rig is mobilised, it is mobilised to a target depth that the survey supports.

  • Resistivity survey and interpretation before the rig moves
  • Aquifer identification and depth prediction
  • Step and constant-rate yield testing on every completed borehole
  • Pumps sized against measured yield, not an estimate
  • Water quality analysis, with results interpreted and documented
  • A handover pack: borehole log, casing schedule, yield report and certificates

This is why the failure rate on our surveyed, engineered boreholes is so low — and why the handover pack is the part clients tell us they value most.

Our reach

We work across Southern, Eastern and West Africa, mobilising rigs, survey crews and installation teams to sites in fifteen countries. A borehole is a long-term asset, so we build relationships that outlast a single project — including the annual servicing that keeps a scheme running.

Credentials

Registered, audited and independently tested.

Drilling is a licensed activity and water is a public resource. We hold the registrations that allow us to work legally on your site, and we test what we deliver to an accredited standard.

The work, as it actually happens.

Survey crews on site before the rig arrives, a drilling site running through the day, and a tap that keeps working years later. Three photographs from the parts of the job that never make it into a brochure.

Where we have drilled.

Fifteen countries, one standard. We mobilise survey crews, rigs and installation teams to sites across the region, and we service what we install.
